Chelsea Jarvie is Security and Information Risk Manager for the Social Security Directorate of the Scottish Government
Chelsea is a keen STEM ambassador and promotes diversity in technology. She was named as a “Woman of the Future” by Equate Scotland in their “Leading Women of Scotland” publication and chosen as Code First Girls: One to Watch 2017. Chelsea was a finalist in the 2016 Scottish Cyber Awards for “Outstanding Woman in Cyber”. In her final year of studying Ethical Hacking at Abertay University, Chelsea won UK Computer Science Undergraduate of the Year 2015.
Cyber security is booming in Scotland at the moment making it an incredible time to be involved in this industry. As a judge for the Scottish Cyber Awards this year, Chelsea is looking for applications that show courage for driving fresh ideas and innovation in the field, be that through new technologies, inspiring awareness and education programmes or challenging poor diversity statistics. Scotland is striving to be a leading nation in security and resilience, and these awards will highlight those contributing beyond their day job to push security boundaries.
